Computational Measurement and Valid Inference
Turning unstructured data into valid measurements.
I am Professor of Information Systems, in particular Business Intelligence and Analytics, at the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin) and Visiting Professor at the University of Twente.
My research develops data science methods that turn text and other unstructured data into valid, uncertainty-aware measurements and inferences. They combine statistical measurement and validity theory with machine learning, large language models and explicit knowledge representations, and I transfer them into health care, critical infrastructure and public administration.
